JDAM: The low-cost precision bomb could see Ukraine strike from three times further away
Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) are GPS-guided bombs with long vanes for precise manoeuvring that can be dropped off from a distance and glide to their target.
Analysts suspect that they are part of the latest US military assistance package to Ukraine.
The package could include the JDAM-ER, which is the Extended Range version of the bomb that allows for strikes to be made from further away.
