Ukraine was 'prepared to some extent' for Russia's mobilisation, ambassador to UK says

In the face of Russia's plans to increase its troops by 300,000 through partial mobilisation, the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK says: "We were prepared to some extent."

Speaking to the BFBS Sitrep podcast, Vadym Prystaiko said Ukraine has a million people in its armed forces.

Mr Prystaiko said: "[President Putin] is afraid he can lose this war.

"We can't lose it. We are preparing to fight.

"We just hope that the partners, our allies will be with us to help us in this fight."

The ambassador also stressed how "instrumental" the UK has been in providing support and spearheading the organisation of the support from other allied nations.
