The Foreign Office is investigating reports following a missile attack on a military range on the outskirts of the Ukrainian city of Lviv, Forces News understands.

It follows reports that several British Special Forces veterans were killed in the incident.

The Yavoriv military range in western Ukraine, near the border with Poland, has previously been used by NATO forces to train Ukrainian personnel.

Following the Yavoriv attack, Downing Street said the strike so close to a NATO member is "deeply concerning" and that the UK is seeking to build the "broadest possible coalition" against the Russian aggression.

The FCDO is working with Ukrainian authorities and international partners to establish further information.

The UK Government advises against all travel to Ukraine.

Watch: Ukraine – at least 35 killed in Russian missile strike on Ukrainian military base.
