On Sunday 15th January look out for '71, a tense thriller in which a  young British soldier is accidentally abandoned by his unit following a terrifying riot on the streets of Belfast during the height of the troubles in 1971. Unable to tell friend from foe, the raw recruit must find his way to safety through an alien and deadly landscape...

 

There's another powerful, if uplifting drama on Tuesday 16th January with Wild. Looking for redemption and meaning to life, a young woman hits the road on a 1,000 mile hike along the Pacific Trail. Along the way she encounters everything from snakes to lecherous men on tractors, from callous journalists who mistake her for a hobo to snowy peaks and sun-baked deserts... 

Next up, on Wednesday 17th January we've got G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Fit with all the kit, the action follows the fortunes of an elite military unit known as G.I. Joe, who must battle international terrorists when an evil warlord and his minions unleash a plague of tiny robot locusts on the world...

On Thursday 18th January the offering is Legend, and it's really one to watch. This superb thriller narrates the story of London gangsters the Kray twins, Reggie and Ronnie who ruthlessly pursued their quest for power in the 1960s. Suave, charming and volatile, no one messed with The Twins...

Friday 19th January sees every teen boy's dream come true in Weird Science, when teen misfits Gary and Wyatt design their ideal woman on a computer, and a freak electrical accident brings her to life in the form of the superhuman Lisa. The things you can do with a computer, a Barbie doll and a magazine pin-up...
