Rocket factory in a box: Tech could revolutionise rocket manufacture right on the frontline

Watch: The small, deployable manufacturing plant could allow militaries to make small amounts of any rocket motor they need.

The war in Ukraine has consumed vast quantities of Nato weaponry, including hundreds of thousands of missiles.

Replenishing those stocks is expected to take years, but a tech firm in the US says it has the answer – a small deployable manufacturing plant that has been dubbed the Rocket Factory in a Box.

The autonomous, robotic manufacturing plant, which can fit inside a couple of shipping containers, could revolutionise manufacturing – allowing militaries to make small amounts of any rocket motor they need.

Forces News' Simon Newton explains the concept in the video above.
