Loved ones welcome HMS Kent crew home after Carrier Strike Group deployment

HMS Kent has arrived home in Portsmouth after a deployment that saw her as part of the Carrier Strike Group alongside HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Before that, the Type 23 frigate had taken part in Exercise Joint Warrior off the coast of Scotland – a multinational effort spread across land, sea and air.

Kent's homecoming in early December is extra special as it means Christmas with family, rather than shipmates.

As the ship grew closer, excitement started to build amid the smattering of families who had braved the chilly weather to welcome the ship home in person at the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour.
