Forget the influencers of Instagram and any photoshopped poses, these military photographs of 2019 show just how totally awesome our Armed Forces are in a series of gleaming images taken throughout the year.

Britain’s Armed Forces had an incredible year in 2019 - and they have the pictures to prove it.

These photographs capture some of the memorable moments of the year – from the dust and dirt of a warzone to the eye-catching uniforms of a parade.

Taken by military and Ministry of Defence civilian photographers, the photographs show the reality of life for UK servicemen and women.

Many of these images are taken by members of the Armed Forces themselves who are military personnel first, photographers second -  deploying with their rifles as well as their cameras.

Below are a selection of the best images of the year, in no particular order.

It looks fun but the move included a tough regime of equestrian and military skills, building bonds between horses and troops and enhancing the skills of professional fighting soldiers.
