The MCC opted to put their hosts into the field at Aldershot, and it proved a correct call which allowed the visitors to go on to post a mammoth total of 428-6.

In the end, UK Armed Forces were 186 all out - a 242-run victory for the MCC in this 50 overs-a-side match.

It was one of UKAF's biggest-ever defeats and followed a loss at the weekend to the Duke of Norfolk's X1 by three wickets.

The UKAF side will have the chance to regroup before facing a Hampshire XI in a curtain raiser at the Ageas Bowl, ahead of a county T20 match later in the summer.
