Chloe Pike retains women's title at Army Championships

The top-ranked female tennis player in the Army has won the service championship in Aldershot.

Corporal Chloe Pike beat first-time finalist Madeline Lewis in the showpiece match of the Army championships.

There was no men's final due to an injury suffered by Ben Rogers who had earlier qualified for the trophy decider.

Cpl Pike's victory in the women's final was a comfortable one as she won two straight sets without dropping a point.

Pike will spearhead the Army women's Inter Services title defence at Wimbledon later in the summer.

Instead of a men's final, Lieutenant Harry Randle faced off with losing semi-finalist Private Marco Wright in an exhibition match.
