Return to rugby union: Army women's hold first training session in two seasons

The Army women's rugby union team have held their first training session in two seasons.

The side lost the Inter Services title in 2019 and have been determined to win back the trophy ever since.

But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 Inter Services were cancelled.

They're now back on the training pitch in Aldershot and preparing ahead of their clash with the RAF as well as a first appearance at Twickenham Stadium against the Navy.

"It's been ages. It does feel like forever since we pulled the red shirt on," said Corporal Louise Dodd, a now experienced player in the squad who also plays for Wasps.

"It's so good to be back.

"There's so many new faces that you just spend the half the day trying to remember everyone's names.

"It's great to see new talent coming up from Corps rugby."
