The date for the 2023 crunch Army v Navy fixtures at Twickenham have been announced.

The matches will be played at the home of England rugby on Saturday 13 May.

The games were originally due to be held on Saturday 6 May but were moved after the date for King Charles III's coronation was announced.

The men's match will kick off at 14:00 and the women's match will kick off later at 17:00.

Organisers said tickets will go on sale from 29 November, adding: "We will announce full details of ticket prices and how and from where they will be sold in the next couple of days."

They also thanked Network Rail, South Western Trains and the RFU (Rugby Football Union) "for their collaboration and rescheduling of engineering works to make this date available".

Last year marked the first time two women's military teams faced off at Twickenham, with the British Army beating the Navy by a massive 68-0.

The men's fixture was closer, with the Army winning 35-27.

The Army v Navy fixture has taken place every year since 1907, with the only exceptions being the First and Second World War and the coronavirus pandemic.

It is the largest amateur sporting event in the UK, often attracting a crowd of more than 80,000 people.
