Premiership rugby union team Newcastle Falcons have announced British Army player Vereimi Qorowale as their new signing.

Qorowale recently competed for the Army at the 2022 UK Super Sevens and has signed a two-year deal with the Falcons.

The 27-year-old Fijian serves as a rifleman in 2nd Battalion The Rifles in Northern Ireland.

When speaking to the club's media team, Qorowale cited fellow Army rugby stars Semesa Rokoduguni and Siva Naulago as inspirations to sign with a professional club.

He said: "It was my dream to become a professional rugby player, and seeing guys like Roko and Siva has been a real inspiration."
