Army rugby union referee Nikki O'Donnell has been selected as part of the officiating team at the Women's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

The tournament was due to be staged last year but was postponed due to the pandemic and will now start in October.

Captain O'Donnell, who serves as a nurse, worked closely with the NHS in the fight against COVID-19.

She's also appeared at the Women's Six Nations as well as taking charge of many key Forces matches.

Sara Cox, who took charge of the 2022 Army v Navy match, is also part of the all-female team of officials.
