Rugby League: Army v RAF men's Inter Services match to be shown LIVE by BFBS

The two teams have announced a host stadium and a deal with a media company which will include coverage from BFBS.

The 2022 Inter Services match between the Army and RAF men's rugby league teams will be shown LIVE by BFBS.

The two teams held a press conference in York to announce a new host stadium for the fixture as well as a deal with the European Sports Media group.

That agreement includes the match receiving live coverage from BFBS.

The match will be played at the home of York City Knights, the LNER Community Stadium, on 9 October 2022.

The Army has driven the initiative but will not receive any financial gain with SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, benefiting from the venture.

"I think now is the time to push it slightly more," said Colonel Mike Taylor, the chairman of Army Rugby League.

"I think the military want to see more military sport across the globe.

"I think being on BFBS will be really good," he added.
