The British Army women's rugby league team will face holders St Helens in the group stage of the 2022 Challenge Cup.

The draw, held at Elland Road in Leeds, saw the military side given two Super League teams as opponents in their group.

Alongside St Helens, the Army will tackle the challenges of Warrington Wolves and Barrow Raiders.

This year's competition sees a change in format with a UEFA Champions League-style group stage taking place in March and April next year.

The top two from the group will progress to the quarter-finals with the winner of the group guaranteed a home draw.

The draw means England international Staff Sergeant Carrie Roberts will face off against her Army team-mates as she is contracted to St Helens.

It is yet to be confirmed whether Tara Moxon of Leeds Rhinos and Abby Eatock of Wigan Warriors will play for the Army or their club side in the competition.
