Royal Navy celebrate historic win to reach the fourth round of Rugby League's Challenge Cup

They beat Premier conference side York Acorn 22-8 in Portsmouth.

The Royal Navy's Rugby League side have progressed to the fourth round of the Challenge Cup for the first time in their history.

They beat Premier conference side York Acorn 22-8.

The Royal Navy Rugby League is 25 years old this year, and this must surely be their finest moment.

They did it thanks to four great tries. James Teixeira and Danny Johnson crossed the whitewash in the first half.

Full back Sean Houghton and Matty Gaskell added a try each in the second.

Some dogged defence kept York Acorn out, when they were under real pressure in the second half.

The Brothers will now take on Batley Bulldogs in a fortnight as they aim even higher.
