Major Charlie O'Shea has won his first Grand Military Gold Cup riding favourite Rolling Dylan at Sandown.

This completes an impressive double for the jockey who was also victorious in the Royal Artillery Gold Cup last month.

Ballycross, who was ridden by this week's Forces Sport podcast guest Sergeant Nathan Rahman, made a crucial error coming down the back straight to cost them the victory.

Eragon De Chanay, who was leading around halfway, unseated his debutant rider Trooper Benson Kattenhorn after a bad mistake.

Didero Vallis, ridden by Private Alexandra Bell, finished last and never looked likely to challenge which was a similar case for Lieutenant Commander Vicki Sollitt on Roc D'Apsis who finished in third.
