UKAF netballers secure impressive Welsh win
The UK Armed Forces netball team won impressively against the Wales under-21 team in Cardiff.
The match was designed as a training friendly for both teams and their win continues a momentous netball season for the military players after the Inter Services at RAF Cosford, which were shown live for the first time.
UKAF will hope to take that momentum into a match against Scotland U21 later in the summer.
The forces team made a lightning start in Cardiff and that early advantage allowed them to build up their scoring rate.
The match, which was played across six 15-minute periods, saw Wales push the military players right to the final whistle.
However, good scoring performances from the Army's international Fijian duo Dee Bolokaro and Ellie Nawale as well as the RAF's Faye Bateson drove UKAF to the win.
