After their success at Netball Europe a few months ago, the UK Armed Forces (UKAF) team have tested themselves against international opposition again.
The military side were invited to be opposition as part of Granada’s UK Tour in Cardiff
This meant Welsh international Fern Davies could receive a homecoming in the purple of UKAF.
Unfortunately for the military team, who without two key players in Ellie Nawale and Dee Bolakoro, Grenada dominated the first quarter.
The Forces players did get on the scoresheet through Hayley Curtis but Cecile Roberts was running the show for the national side and UKAF trailed 16-6 at the end of the first quarter.
They showed a fight-back before half-time, but it was never quite enough as they faced an eleven-point deficit at the break.
In the third quarter, Grenada pulled away. Roberts scored freely as they prepared for a match against Wales later in the week.
By the end of the game, Grenada were comfortable winners by 58-36.
The loss brings an end to a spectacular season for the military players and they turn their attention to providing a guard of honour at the Netball World Cup on Friday.
