Navy Submariner To Represent British Powerlifting At World Championships

Petty Officer Wesley McGuinness is the first military member to compete at an IPF World Championship.

Royal Navy submariner Petty Officer Wesley McGuinness has been selected to represent British Powerlifting at the World Bench Press Championships.

PO McGuiness will be the first forces powerlifter to compete at an International Powerlifting Federation World Championship.

The global powerlifting competition will be hosted in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 21 October.

PO McGuinness competed at the 2021 British Classic Bench Press Championships in August, taking second place in the Men's Classic 93 MR-O Bench Only class.
