Team UK depart for Invictus Games The Hague challenge

Team UK have departed for the Netherlands ahead of the Invictus Games The Hague.

The tournament, which has twice been postponed due to COVID-19, officially starts on Saturday and competitors from Team UK were waved off by family and friends on Thursday.

It's been 30 months since the British squad was originally announced and while there has been some personnel changes, the team are excited to get going.

"I think I'm ready for it," said Warrant Officer Class 2 Gillian Charlton. "I thought that it was never going to happen and I just can't believe that it's nearly here."

The Invictus Games The Hague start on Saturday 16 April and finishes on Friday 22 April.
