Royal Navy women impress in Inter Services win over British Army women

A 2-1 Navy win in Portsmouth was the final match of the tournament.

The Royal Navy women's football team have ended the 2022 Inter Services Championships on a strong note with an impressive win in Portsmouth.

A 2-1 win victory over the British Army meant the Navy finished second in the tournament after the RAF had already been crowned champions.

After a Sophie Perrin own goal cancelled out Jade Widdows' opener, it was UKAF winger Rosie McDonnell who grabbed the winner for the Navy.

The Navy were clearly the better of the two teams with the Army goalkeeper tested on a number of occasions.

It was the perfect response for the home team who were beaten at RAF Cosford in the opening match of the competition.
