RAF beat Navy as Inter Services football returns

The RAF have won the opening match of the 2022 Inter Services Championships against the Royal Navy.

A 2-0 win in Shrewsbury was the first match in the competition for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was also the first RAF v Navy clash since 2019 and goals from Jake Gosling and Joseph Spalding sealed the win.

The Air Force can now be crowned Inter Services champions if they beat the Army next week.

The Navy will be cheering on their usual rivals in red as, if the Army win and the Navy win the final match of the tournament, the title could be settled by goal difference.

The Army v RAF match will be shown LIVE on March 23.
