The UK Armed Forces football team have appointed Flight Sergeant Dyfan Pierce as new head coach.

Flt Sgt Pierce takes over from Flight Sergeant Nick De-Long who led the team to a record-breaking fourth successive Kentish Cup title in December.

Flt Sgt Pierce was part of the backroom staff for that tournament and now takes the step up to the main role.

"I am privileged and honoured to be given the opportunity to lead this special group of players and staff," he said after his appointment.

"We have achieved great success over the last six years and I look forward to building on that into the future.

"I can't wait to get started."

The new manager’s first brief will be to watch this year’s Inter Services match up, which you can watch live with BFBS Sport, ahead of the first UKAF fixture of his tenure in May.
