An Army reservist has been crowned 2022 forces showjumping champion at the London International Horse Show.

Air Trooper Will Field, riding his horse Dave, was the top rider in the military-only event at the ExCeL London exhibition centre.

Other rivals included Major Zoe Andrew on Whizz and Lance Corporal Laura Charley on Fern.

Charley was actually the quickest around the course but, as all three riders had fences down, it was Air Tpr Field who received fewer penalties which granted him victory with a time of 45.2 seconds.

"It feels really good," said Air Tpr Field after his performance.

"Yeah, [I'm] really pleased especially after starting the season not so well with a bad back. We've come back really well and really strong.

"Since I've had him, he's been a fantastic horse.

"I've always come second to Laura Charley so I wasn't expecting to come out as winner once she went in."
