An Army veteran will compete for Great Britain at the 2022 Para Cycling World Championships.

Jaco Van Gass is the current world champion in the C3 kilo, scratch and omnium events.

The British Army veteran lost his left arm while serving with the Parachute Regiment in 2009 but has since become a double Paralympic Games gold medallist.

The competition gets under way on 20 October with racing taking place in Paris at the velodrome that will be used for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The former Invictus Games athlete won two gold medals and a bronze medal at the Tokyo Paralympics – breaking three world records during his two weeks in Asia.
