Inter Services T20: British Army beat Royal Navy in Lord's opener

A 43-run win means it's now winner-takes-all in the match between the RAF and the Army.

The British Army have won their opening match of the 2022 Inter Services T20 championships by beating the Royal Navy at Lord's Cricket Ground.

A 43-run win was the perfect start for the Army who are defending the title they won last year at Arundel Castle.

They now face the Royal Air Force in the final match to decide the championship LIVE on the Forces News YouTube channel.

The Army won the toss and chose to bat and it paid off with a stellar performance at the crease.

The partnership of 103 runs between Graham Wiseman and Tade Carmichael was key for the men in red as they posted a score of 171-8 after 20 overs.

That confidence continued in their bowling as three wickets from Connor Hodgson and two from spinner Urie Hill put the Navy to the sword.

By the end of their innings, the Navy had posted a score of 128-9 meaning they'd lost both of their matches in the tournament.
