Army beat RAF to win Inter Services cricket title

The 50-overs championship makes it a double delight for the Army who win the T20 title at Lord's earlier this year.

The British Army cricket team have won the 2022 Inter Services 50-overs title in Aldershot.

A 30-run victory over the RAF sealed the championship and completed a double-winning season for the men in red.

The Army also won the T20 title at Lord's Cricket Ground in June.

Oliver Cross top scored for the Army with 46 and teammate Tade Carmichael added 40 to see the home side set a total of 263 for 9.

In reply, the airmen failed to reach the target despite a defiant 46 runs from Rob Smith.

Fine work by the Army in the field meant the Air Force could only stutter their way to 223 for 9.
