The Army has retained its Inter-Services boxing title for the 34th year at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) Lympstone - but by the narrowest of margins.

In one of the competition's best contests in 20 years, the Navy at one stage led the eight-bout card 4-2, with only one more victory enough to give them the title.

But a knockout punch from the Army's John Marvin over Bobby Foreman of the Royal Marines in the cruiserweight bout, followed by a narrow win at heavyweight for Natty Ngwenya over Nathan Levers, levelled things at 4-4.

That left Chez Nihell's walkover at superheavyweight, which was enough to give the Army victory again.
