3 PARA win 10th Inter Unit title in dramatic boxing main event

The 3rd Battalion of the Parachute Regiment have won their 10th Inter Unit title in a thrilling night of boxing in Aldershot.

Their battle against 1st Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was level at four wins each heading into the main event where the title would be decided.

In the super heavyweight contest, Lance Corporal Liam Lindsay beat Corporal Kyle Spencer to seal the trophy for 3 PARA.

This was the first Inter Unit competition since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and all the fighters were keen to make their mark.

There were three TKO victories on the night with 3 PARA coming from 4-2 down to win the competition.

  • Private George Ingham beat Fusilier Genty by split decision
  • Private 'Jimmy' Hendricks beat Lance Corporal Matt Scott by TKO
  • Corporal Nathan Darcey beat Private John Buckley by split decision
  • Fusilier Connor Moore beat Private Ben Stone by unanimous decision
  • Corporal Ismail Griffiths beat Private Michael Coates by TKO
  • Private Andy Farrow beat Sergeant David Morrison by TKO
  • Corporal Joe Allen beat Craftsman Brandon O'Dowd by unanimous decision
  • Lance Corporal Liam Lindsay beat Corporal Kyle Spencer by unanimous decision
