RAF guide wins gold medal at 2022 Commonwealth Games

RAF triathlon guide Senior Aircraftman Luke Pollard has won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
He guided Dave Ellis to victory in Sutton Park this morning.
The pair were considered heavy favourites to win the race - they were ranked number one in the world going into the Games.

The pair were left disappointed with their performance at the Tokyo Paralympics when a broken bike chain resulted in them pulling out of the race.
That setback inspired them further to get the gold in Birmingham.
"The Commonwealth Games, especially a home one, is going to be exciting," said SAC Pollard when speaking to Forces News prior to the Games.
"We were pretty disappointed in Tokyo."
