The 30th Women’s Varsity Match held at Twickenham on Thursday will be refereed by Army Nurse Nikki O’Donnell.

The Nursing Officer is considered one of the top three female referees in England and has been officiating for the past six years.

She has had a busy start to the 2018/19 season, with her first men’s National Two game quickly followed by the remembrance match at Rosslyn Park.

In that fixture, it was the UKAF team taking on South Africa but the game at Twickenham on Thursday will be the 30th edition of the Varsity.

Oxford University are looking to get revenge on Cambridge University for last year’s result where they were on the losing side of 24-0 scoreline.

O’Donnell also received the honour of her international debut earlier this season.

It was Wales against South Africa at Cardiff Arms Park and an impressive performance has convinced the Rugby Football Union to award her the Varsity tie.
