Precious medals of high sentimental value from the Falklands War have been burgled from a veteran's home.
Police are appealing for information after the precious collection of Falklands War heirlooms were stolen in South Shields.
A Police spokeswoman said: “These are Falklands War medals and have great sentimental value to the householders who are desperate to get them back. Some of the medals were attached to a black Royal Navy Officer jacket.”
The incident occured between 4.30pm on Friday, July 24, and 9.27am on Sunday, July 26, when burglars got into a house on Ewart Street, South Shields.
Jewellery, a camera and an X-Box games console were also stolen.
