Her Majesty the Queen has endured many a flypast during her 65 years on the throne.

More often than not from the balcony of Buckingham Palace as the likes of the Red Arrows, with red, white and blue smoke trailing, fly down the Mall.

Back in 1977 however to mark her Silver Jubilee, Her Majesty conducted a review of the Royal Air Force at the then RAF Finningley, now Doncaster's Robin Hood Airport.

With a few more aircraft in the fleet back then it was a whole day affair, including aircraft inspections, meet and greets with crews and of course a right Royal flying display.
