Watch: Breathtaking moment RAF Typhoons fly over world's largest aircraft carrier
The RAF has shared a video of two FGR4 Typhoons alongside two US Navy F/A-18E Super Hornets as they make a low-level flypast of the world’s largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R Ford.
The pilots were taking part in a training sortie over the Eastern Mediterranean Sea that culminated in the impressive flypast.
They were joined by an RAF Voyager, which provided air-to-air refuelling.
Speaking after the flight, one of the 3 (Fighter) Squadron pilots said:
"The occasion was made more special with our US exchange pilot flying one of the Typhoons and a British exchange pilot flying one of the F/A-18Es, demonstrating the close link and interoperability between our nations."
USS Gerald R Ford is the US Navy's newest and most advanced aircraft carrier.
Named after America's 38th president, she is part of the first new US aircraft carrier class to be designed in more than 40 years.
She is not only the largest aircraft carrier, but the largest warship ever to have been built.
