Jade Callaway, of the British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS), joined RAF C-130 Hercules crews in the Falklands on Operation Cold Stare.
They're tasked with helping to monitor and protect the area; mapping icebergs and pack ice and patrolling and protecting fishing areas to make sure vessels are behaving legally.
Additionally, Op Cold Stare was also tasked in this recent mission with flying over the South Sandwich Islands to examine the environmental impacts of a volcanic eruption.

Zavodovski Island, one of the South Sandwich Islands, is home to the world's largest colony of chinstrap penguins, with more than 1,000,000 there, according to the British Antarctic Survey (BAS).
