HMS Belfast, the first Royal Navy ship to be named after Northern Ireland's capital city, played a crucial role in the D-Day landings.

She was launched on St Patrick's Day in 1938 and eventually decommissioned in 1963, and is now permanently moored on the River Thames in London.
