SD Tempest is the most powerful tug to enter service, with double the pulling power of previous vessels.
The new super tug will guide in Britain's newest aircraft carrier, the HMS Queen Elizabeth, when she arrives in Portsmouth later this year.
Officially named Tempest, she has been specially commissioned to guide the 65,000 tonne Elizabeth Class carriers safely to their berths.
Thanks to her three powerful engines she is the most capable tug in the Royal Navy and also has exceptional manoeuvrability.
Rupert Soames, Chief Executive of Serco says:
They have enormous engines, enormous propellers and they can exert enormous force.
Tempest sailed into Portsmouth back in February and has completed a series of operational trials while her crew have spent weeks training on her sister ships in the Netherlands.
