HMS Queen Elizabeth leaves Glenmallan for pre-deployment sea trials
The Royal Navy's flagship HMS Queen Elizabeth has departed Glenmallan in Argyll and Bute following a routine logistics visit.
The 65,000-tonne aircraft carrier shared a timelapse video of her leaving Loch Long on her Twitter account.
HMS Queen Elizabeth is now heading out for sea trials ahead of a deployment to the Mediterranean later this year, where she will lead a carrier strike group for the fourth time in four years.
In March, the Prime Minister announced HMS Queen Elizabeth will be regularly deployed across the Indo-Pacific region along with France's Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier to form the "backbone" of a permanent European maritime presence there.
It comes as HMS Queen Elizabeth's sister ship, HMS Prince of Wales, is due to be fixed.
Repairs to fix the beleaguered aircraft carrier are expected to cost approximately £25m.
