HMS Albion sails into Montenegro during Operation Achillean deployment

The Royal Navy's amphibious flagship HMS Albion has sailed to the southern coastal town and seaport Bar, in Montenegro.
The visit to the Balkan nation, which only joined NATO in 2017, was an opportunity to strengthen future defence cooperation.
Albion is currently on Operation Achillean, where she is leading the Littoral Response Group North (LRG North), a task force designed to respond to any kind of crisis or threat in European waters.
More than 1,000 sailors and Royal Marines have been deployed as part of the group.

LRG North, which was in Turkey last month, is exercising in several Eastern Mediterranean countries, supporting amphibious operations and developing the Littoral Strike concept.
