A retired Gurkha captain who guarded the Queen has spoken of his sadness at her death and shared the stories of his time working with her.
Captain Umeshkumar Pun spent 12 months in the prestigious role of escorting Her Majesty and standing guard as she awarded thousands of honours at Buckingham Palace.
Each year only the best of the best are selected to fill the two positions as Queen's Gurkha Orderly Officers.
The captain says he will watch the Queen's funeral alongside fellow Gurkha veterans who will gather in Colchester as they pause, along with the rest of the UK and people across the world, to remember Her Majesty's life.
