Princess Anne takes salute at 2 Signal Regiment's York freedom parade

The Princess Royal was in York on Thursday as 2 Signal Regiment carried out their freedom of the city parade.

2 Signal Regiment, based in York's Imphal Barracks, marched through the city's streets for their freedom parade in front of crowds of joyful onlookers, with Princess Anne, the Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Corps of Signals taking the salute.

The parade, which marks the links between the unit and the city, started near York Minster, and the crowds lining the streets watched about 150 soldiers march through the York streets, passing the Princess Royal at the Mansion House.
