In pictures: The Grenadier and Coldstream Guards faced Major General's inspection

The Grenadier and Coldstream Guards have faced their first Major General's Inspection of 2022 – ahead of a busy year of ceremonial duties.

Staff alongside the Major General were in full ceremonial gear as they watched and inspected the two regiments separately before signing them off ready for the delivery of state ceremonial public duties.

The sign-off is hugely important as celebrations take place this year for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee (QPJ).

It was also the public's first chance to learn about the units which will be delivering ceremonial public duties during the QPJ and run-up events.
