Watch: Queen speaks of 'debt of gratitude' in 2002 Golden Jubilee speech to Armed Forces

This archive footage shows the late Queen's speech to personnel in Portsmouth, in her Golden Jubilee year 2002, in which she told them of her "debt of gratitude" for their service.

Her Majesty told personnel: "Britain is grateful to you, whether here in Portsmouth, in bases across the United Kingdom, or across the world.

"You do this country proud," she said in the Forces News archive footage.

Queen Elizabeth II, who reigned for 70 years, celebrating her Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, died "peacefully" on Thursday afternoon.
