Armed Forces personnel from around the world have stood in silence for a moment's reflection ahead of Her Majesty's state funeral.

At 20:00 BST on Sunday, members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army and Royal Air Force, as well as other defence personnel and Commonwealth troops, observed the silence to remember the late monarch, with people marking the occasion privately at their homes and at community events and vigils.

Mourners could be heard applauding and cheering after the silence ended.

Her Majesty's state funeral takes place at Westminster Abbey at 11:00 BST with a committal service at St George's Chapel, Windsor, taking place later in the day, at 16:00.

At 10:44, the coffin will be borne in procession on the state gun carriage of the Royal Navy from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey for the state funeral.

The state funeral gun carriage of the Royal Navy will be pulled by 98 sailors, known as the Sovereign's Guard.

The state funeral service will be attended by heads of state and overseas government representatives as well as almost 200 people who were recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours earlier this year.
