Beating Retreat: Military musical spectacular rounds off Queen's jubilee celebrations

Representatives of the Massed Bands of the Household Division were joined by the Commonwealth Youth Choir.

The Massed Bands of the Household Division were joined by 150 children from the Commonwealth Youth Choir and a packed audience to perform a military musical spectacular at the Beating Retreat.

The three-day event at Horse Guards Parade was rounding off the Household Division's involvement in this year's Queen's Platinum Jubilee and Commonwealth celebrations.

Representatives of the Massed Bands performed iconic music pieces and the event featured new compositions written by Lieutenant Colonel Simon Haw, Commanding Officer Bands Household Division.

Lt Col Haw assumed command of the bands of the Household Division in 2020, but this event was his last engagement, after 34 years in the Army.
