The iconic Red Arrows wowed crowds as they headlined the English Riviera Airshow in Devon, piercing clear blue skies with their signature red, white and blue smoke trails.

This weekend's flight programme also featured one of the country's top display teams – The Tigers Army Parachute Display Team, made up of parachutists from The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment.

History enthusiasts were treated to a spectacular sight as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring three of the most iconic aircraft in aviation history – as the Hurricane, Lancaster, and Spitfire took to the skies.

The airshow offered a rare sighting of a Seafire, the naval variant of the legendary Spitfire, which was specially modified for operations from aircraft carriers during the Second World War.

The display even included a Soviet plane – the Yakovlev Yak 50, which was made in the USSR as purely a display aircraft designed to beat the West in aerobatic competitions.

As well as historic and display aircraft, an array of helicopters took to the skies over Devon.

The Black Cats in Wildcat helicopters thrilled the audiences with their dynamic flying displays.

Starting as the 'Lynx Pair', the Black Cats have been the first official Royal Navy flying display team since the 'Sharks' disbanded in the mid-1990s.

The Wildcats were followed by the Westland Wasp, a small 1960s British turbine-powered, shipboard anti-submarine helicopter.

Following the Cats and Wasp was the Fairey Swordfish, the legendary 'Stringbag' – a Torpedo Spotter Reconnaissance biplane dive-bomber that went into service with the Fleet Air Arm pre-war in 1936.

For many in the audience, the colourful dynamic display of the Red Arrows was the highlight of the day.

The Red Arrows revamp their show annually, introducing new elements and surprises to deliver a fresh and exhilarating experience each and every year.
