Armed Forces personnel and anyone with military affinity have been helping to decide on the nation's favourite military television programme after research revealed the top choices of TV genre.
The #HatchAndGeere breakfast show invited people to make their choice after a survey was commissioned to reveal the UK’s favourite shows of all time, to tie in with World TV Day.
Then, we gave you the chance to find the favourite military-themed show by taking our own survey.
A poll of 2,000 adults by Samsung ahead of World Television Day, revealed that the top three favourite genres of TV in the UK are documentaries, crime dramas, and, in third place, comedy.
It probably would not surprise many people that Only Fools and Horses came out on top as our favourite comedy of all time, pulling in about a third of the vote, followed by Fawlty Towers and comedy series Blackadder in third place.
There were murmurs of disagreement at Forces Radio BFBS HQ when 'Game Show Of All Time' came out as The Chase and not the equally popular Pointless.

One in five people say they now watch more hours of TV than they did in 2012 and with 15.84 million homes having two or more TV’s in 2017, that is a lot of telly viewing.
We offered some classic military themed programmes to vote on in a poll. Which one of these would get your vote?
- ‘Allo ‘Allo
- The A-Team
- Dad’s Army
- Hogan's Heroes
- It Ain’t Half Hot Mum
- Soldier Soldier
- Band of Brothers
- Our Girl
- The Last Post
The clear winner with 18% of the vote was BBC sitcom Dad's Army, the charming comedy about the British Home Guard during the Second World War.
However, it was a close call with Soldier Soldier and Band Of Brothers, both just four votes away from the number one spot.
