Have you ever wondered what it would have been like for our Neolithic ancestors to bring giant sarsen stones on the 20-mile journey from Marlborough Downs to Stonehenge?

English Heritage has invited the public to take part in moving and raising the stone during an experiential archaeology weekend, part of the charity’s celebration of the centenary of Stonehenge being donated to the nation.

English Heritage historians have suggested that celebration was an important part of building Stonehenge, with the construction as important ceremonially as the final intended use.

Forces Radio BFBS Presenter, Adam Powney, went along and spoke with Kate Davies, General Manager at Stonehenge.
