How to Enter
To enter the competition, BFBS Germany listeners must email firstname.lastname@example.org to register IN ADVANCE. Please include your name, place of work and a day-time telephone number which we can contact you on. You only need to register once and you will be in with a chance of being selected at random each day the competition takes place.
The Competition Rules
Callers need to register IN ADVANCE by e-mailing their name and daytime telephone number to email@example.com During Forces Radio BFBS Germany shows between 8am, Monday 8th October and 4pm, Friday 2nd November, the on-air presenter will use an online Random Number Generator to pick an entrant. The radio presenter will contact the individual whose name is drawn. The call will then be transferred live on-air (individuals are reminded not to swear or use other inappropriate language).
Note: If a person does not answer their telephone when they are contacted, they will miss the opportunity to take part at that time (and another name will be drawn as above); however, their name will remain in the draw and there is a possibility they may be drawn again. As the draw is random, there is the possibility that a person may be contacted and invited to take part on more than one occasion. Once a caller is live on-air, they will be given one bear clue and will then be played a countdown from ten down to one with a sound siren signalling zero. The caller’s task will be to identify the bear correctly from the clue given before the countdown. If they gave a wrong or partially incorrect answer they will NOT be put into the draw. Only the first answer given will be taken.
All callers who correctly identify the bear will be entered into the end of month prize draw for the big prize.
Any caller who fails to correctly identify bear will not be put forward into the end-of-month draw, but their name will remain on the entrants list and they may be called again (if chosen by the random number generator).
After the last round of ‘Operation Berlin Bear’ is played on Friday 2nd November, the on-air presenter will use the online Random Number Generator to pick one overall winner from all the successful candidates who have correctly answered during the month. That one person will be the ‘Operation Berlin Bear’ winner and will enjoy the prize as detailed above.
By taking part in this competition you accept these terms and conditions and, if you win, you agree to take part in interviews and for your name and image to be used by Forces Radio BFBS as well as Grant & Green Ltd for promotional material which may be broadcast or published on digital and social media platforms. The exact details of this will be arranged with the winner and will include (but not be limited to) photos, video & interview with BFBS on collection of the vehicle and potentially afterwards when returning the vehicle.
The personal data in your email (e.g. email address, name and address) will not be shared with 3rd parties, with the exception of the winner who will be required to provide details to the Grant & Green Ltd for the purpose of arranging vehicle insurance, and the hotel for the purpose of checking in.
